During my 45 year career as a professional creative marketing person, I came to know the what and and how of my creative processes. I know the tools and resources I use. I can teach you those same techniques. You can use the same tools and resources to become more creative, more often. I will share four epiphanies that changed my creative abilities, and my life. And maybe in some small way — change yours.
Marketing drives my approach to creativity. We have objectives that orient our non-linear thinking. We play with our 'creative cloud': words, meanings, sounds, spellings, emotions, intuitions, and inspirations.
I create a safe environment. One where we give ourselves permission to see, link, try, fail, and — we succeed in new ways because we find new ways. I love the process and the results.
And I've always said — even when creativity is singular, marketing is a team sport.
A dynamic, articulate, seriously inventive, funny, and humble Creativity Director walks into the room and ignites your group's creative potential. Now you're working with components you DIDN't see before. You colour outside the lines. Worlds, and lives can be transformed in this way. It's a pretty good 'get'.
